ServiceCore Employee Spotlight: Sophia, Customer Success Engineer

We know a lot of companies say this, but here at ServiceCore, we think our customers are the greatest. Since we designed our tool to specifically meet the needs of portable, septic, and dumpster rental businesses, we feel like we know our customers pretty darn well – so we figured it’s only fair we return the favor!

Introducing our monthly Employee Spotlight series, where you can get to know a ServiceCore employee a little better and get an inside peek at the team helping you grow your portable sanitation business.

This month, we caught up with Sophia, one of our Customer Success Engineers.

Please share a couple of facts about the career journey that brought you to ServiceCore.

I started in a humble role of University Tech Support in College. After being in the role a while, the pandemic began so the need for my role/team significantly increased in a very short amount of time. I found myself thrilled to be able to help the technology-challenged members of my university thus beginning my career in customer success.

How long have you been working at ServiceCore?

I have been at ServiceCore for about 9 months, it will be a year in July! It feels like forever though.

What’s your role here at ServiceCore? / How do you spend your day?

As a Customer Success Engineer, I spend a lot of time engineering new ways to support our customers. Usually, this means building custom reports that have been requested, as well as investigating issues that have burdened our customers. Since I was an avid Nancy Drew reader as a child, I find troubleshooting these issues to be like solving a case. I go to no end to find out the root cause of an issue so we can more easily find a solution.

When you’re not working, how do you like to spend your free time?

Usually, in the evenings and on weekends, I spend my time in a combination of ways: playing animal crossing, watching international dramas, and trying new recipes! I also love to collect Hello Kitty Things so I’m always on the hunt at every store trying to find anything (practical) Hello Kitty.

Can you tell us about one of your favorite / most memorable ServiceCore clients?

My favorite ServiceCore clients are Pink Portables! I love their name so much as my favorite color is pink. Additionally, from what I know, the story behind the name has ties to the fight against Breast Cancer which is something that has dramatically affected my life. I really appreciate the cause and think the name is just perfect! Also, I ran their import for WGO for QuickBooks Desktop, and PinkPortables was my first successful WGO so they hold a special place in my heart!

If you could give ServiceCore users one tip about how to best use our tool, what would it be?

Encourage your curiosity! If you are wondering if there is a feature you need, try to look around and see what you find! There are so many neat and helpful tools packed in so there’s always something new to find.

If you could suggest one piece of ServiceCore content to read / listen to TODAY, which would it be?

I found this toilet talk especially interesting because it introduced the very important data of benchmarking data. I’m the type of person who benefits greatly from knowing my progress, what needs improvement, and opportunities for growth. Having all of it laid out in the benchmark report is extremely inspiring because it provides such a great opportunity to grow for smaller businesses in the industry. My parents had a small construction business when I was growing up, so being a part of a business that helps other smaller businesses is a really rewarding experience!

If ServiceCore had a mascot, what would it be?

Either a portable or a poop emoji! In a perfect world, we could have a partnership with sanrio and have a hello kitty portable.

What are your hopes for ServiceCore in the future?

There are a lot of features that I would love to be added to ServiceCore. I also can not wait for the day that our Reporting Features are completely optimized and every report imaginable is readily available for customers to customize to their heart’s content!

Thanks so much to Sophia for spending the time with us today and telling us what she loves about being a part of the ServiceCore family and her own vision for the future.
